The officers and directors of the Catalina 320 International Association, the  Coronado Yacht Club  and the San Diego Regatta Crew cordially invite all Catalina 320 owners, families, and supercargo to join us for three days of sailing, fun and camaraderie on San Diego Bay.  All activities will take place at the Coronado Yacht Club in beautiful Coronado, CA at the head of Glorietta Bay, 1631 Strand Way, Coronado, CA 92118, (619) 435 1848. You can see more about CYC at their web address: www.coronadoyc.org.

Registration begins at 0900 on Friday. There will be great activities including the C320 Association’s Annual Meeting, technical discussions on Friday afternoon from about 1PM to 4PM, boat open houses, cocktail parties, a fun race, a San Diego Bay cruise on Sunday, and the Association’s banquet  on Saturday evening. The banquet speaker is yet to be determined and will be posted, along with a full listing of all activities, on the C320 website: www.catalina320.com.

We hope that all who are bringing their boats to CYC will participate in the FUN race on Saturday.  Crews will be assigned to both the race on Saturday and the Bay sail on Sunday. Boat owners please plan for BOAT open houses both days before the dinners so all can sip a glass of wine while enjoying simple hors d’oeuvres and seeing your boat.

CYC serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 0900 on and the Bar will be open all day.

Please note the Registration deadline is August 1, 2016.  Please register in advance since this is required for planning meals and activities. The polo shirts are really great and will be available at check-in.  Even if you are not coming, you may order some at a cost of $20.00 each plus $6.00 shipping.    Over the left breast is the monogram of the crossed C320 and CYC burgees with Coronado 2016 under.  We hope you wear them Friday Night.

No person will be served or admitted to any activity without a badge that will be provided at check-in as CYC is a private club and California has very strict liquor laws.

Friday evening’s dinner will feature   Benito’s Taco Stand  on the Club’s lawn on the Bay and includes:  Pollo Asada; Carnitas; Carne Asada; shredded lettuce; shredded cheese; sour cream; Pico de Gallo; Guacamole; spicy pickled peppers and carrots; freshly made tortilla chips; corn and flower tortillas; Mexicali beans; Mexican rice; and, flour tortillas.  A cash bar will also be provided and great local draft beer will be on tap.

The  Saturday evening meal will be served on tables in the Club’s  main dining room and includes: salad, rolls, and butter;  iceberg wedge (1/4) with bacon, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing; petit filet with red wine and mushrooms OR salmon with lemon caper sauce; string beans; baked potatoes with sour cream, chives, and bacon; and,  chocolate lava cake. Wine is included and the Club’s cash bar will be available.  The dress for Saturday Night is Resort Casual.

CYC will be offering box lunches on Saturday and Sunday.  You can order these at the check-in. Sandwich shops and delis are also within walking distance of CYC.

Visiting yacht berthing will be provided by CYC at no extra charge for three days but boats  must be flying their Home Yacht Club Burgee or the C320 Burgee. Ordering information for a C320 Burgee is available here.  You may arrive on Thursday or Friday. Please coordinate slip arrangements with the  CYC Port Captain via phone  619.435.1848.  Please update your arrival on channel 69 as you pass under the Coronado Bridge by hailing CYC Port Captain.

Vehicle parking is available at the CYC West Lot on Strand Way, to the right of the main entrance and on the street.  Note: the main lot is for Club members only. If you are staying at the Glorietta Bay Inn you will not need a car as it is one block from CYC and you can easy walk to the Club.  The taxi cost is about $35.00 from the San Diego Airport to GBI and much less using UBER. If you have a Military or DOD ID, the Navy has some great rooms at the Navy Lodge at NAS North Island.  For a more posh surrounding, you can select the Hotel del Coronado which is two blocks away from the Club.
