The rudder is the only part of the boat that Catalina barrier coated. Unfortunately the soda blasting left the barrier coat with a lot of pock marks. The entire rudder was sanded down to the gelcoat, and various dings and scratches were repaired with West System. After sanding the rudder, the transition at the bootstripe, and the areas beneath the cradle pads I can honestly say that the soda blasting was money well spent.
