Welcome to the Catalina 320 International Association

Overview

Welcome to the Catalina 320 International Association. The association is a non-profit affiliation of Catalina 320 owners and supporters around the globe. The objectives of the organization are to coordinate C320 inter-fleet cruising activities, one-design racing and to serve as a central repository for information about the C320.

The Catalina 320 International Association works to keep owners educated and informed about our boat and her systems, allowing owners to sail safely, with fewer problems, and to maintain high resale values. Every member is important to the Association and a strong association is important ownership asset.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Members

The Association is composed of members worldwide who are all committed to the C320, and seek the camaraderie and support of like-minded individuals. A small group of members volunteer as the organization’s Governing Board. Members include racers, cruisers, weekenders, hobbyists, and all manner of C320 sailors. While some members are owners or part owners of a Catalina 320 (regular members), others are simply supporting members who are considering the boat or wish to command one in a sanctioned race.

In areas where many C320s are nearby, the Association has helped facilitate local Fleets, whose local participants support one-another and encourage participation in local events and activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Benefits of Membership

There are many benefits of membership. These include:

  1. The official glossy Catalina publication “Mainsheet” delivered to your doorstep quarterly. It features news and technical information relevant to all Catalina owners, as well as specific information each issue for the Catalina 320.
  2. Access to a very active Discussion Group, where members around the world exchange solutions, sailing tips, vendor suggestions, and all types of discussion about the C320.
  3. A Classified section, to sell or shop for Catalina 320 boats and gear.
  4. A member tool loaner program, with Association toolbox. Several common tools (a Cutlass Bearing Remover, Digital Photo Tachometer, Non-Contact Thermometer, Torque Wrench, and Loos Gauge) are available free of charge (plus shipping) to Association members. This allows members to avoid the costly purchase of tools that may be needed very infrequently and/or are relatively expensive.
  5. A Hull Number Roster, to identify C320 owners in your area to share ideas, tools, vendor suggestions, or even a few drinks.
  6. A variety of reference materials including Polar Plots, Owner Operating Manuals, technical manuals for individual vessel components, marketing brochures, and a variety of boat assessment and purchasing information.
  7. A gallery of owner photographs, sharing their technical improvements, as well as events and C320 action shots.
  8. Tech Tips, various projects and discussions on topics such as table modifications, sail tuning, varnish recommendations, electrical upgrades, etc.
  9. A 50% discount on your BoatUS membership. BoatUS is the premier US boating association, providing services, publications, vendor discounts, and advocacy to ensure safe boating and clean waters.
  10. Access to your local Fleet. We currently have a C320 fleet in Long Island, North Carolina, and Lake Michigan, while many other C320 owners belong to “all Catalina” fleets across the country. If there isn’t a fleet in your area, your Association membership gives you access to the resources to establish one.
  11. Free Association decals to promote your membership on you boat and car.
  12. The support of a team of Association officers who monitor C320 problems, and are available to help owners in need, whether it be technical information or assistance with the factor or a dealer.
  13. Availability to purchase the official C320 IA burgee, to fly proudly from your spreaders.
  14. Business meetings and regattas held in various locations provide a great way to meet fellow owners.
  15. A constantly improving website, with recent enhancements including an improved photo gallery user interface, improved organization of technical information, PayPal support within the Ship’s Store, membership fees, event management, classified ads and online voting.
  16. And finally, your membership helps support your investment in the Catalina 320 by fostering a rich community of advocates and encouraging the next era of owners to consider this excellent vessel.
